This was my first project with Community Share and I had a really difficult time figuring out the main topic for the project. When meeting with Dr. Sara Chavarria I was led to the question: “What is the most important take away for students?” From there we ran with “Music is a Part of Being Human.”

Students discussed and listed out the purposes of music and together we explored some of those purposes. Then students focused in on interviewing and developing questions. They interviewed each other and interviewed Ashley Aron, a professional musician. As a closure activity, student groups made posters summarizing what was meaningful to them. Then each class did a gallery walk and read what other groups had shared.
